Wild Ones’ Milkweed for Monarchs Program – Fall 2020
Each year the Wild Ones – Madison Chapter grows native milkweed species to be potted up and distributed for various community projects. While non-profit and community-based projects may get priority in the selection process, anyone is welcome to apply to receive free milkweed plants. Recipients may also be selected by which project sites are most suitable based on the species available in any given year. Those recipients awarded milkweed plants will be asked to share before and after photos of the planting, and ideally, we can follow-up the next year to highlight your project progress. The goal of the program is to not only get milkweed plants in the ground to support monarch populations, but also help to empower and promote native plant restoration work being done by local community groups and organizations.
